Just sprayed my 69 bus L345 Light grey in Valspar
Single stage polyurethane. First time painting a car so I sprayed a test piece to verify color and thought it looks close to what I was looking for. Ended up spraying the interior but now regret it cause it looks more beige than light grey. What do you guys think? Local paint store mixed it to what was on their system and the only other comparison are photos of buses online. The last photo taken with the flash on is more what it looks like in person. Will pull the bus out tomorrow in sunlight to see if it looks different.

Hmm. It does seem a little more beige than I would expect. For color match I’ve done best with PPG. To be really sure get an original sample (I bought a small interior part on ebay that I didn’t need but it was pristine) and have it scanned at a PPG dealer. They have a scanner that provides exact matches. |

It looks sort of too Beige to me in the photos but hard to say for sure since internet and digital photos are often different on different screens, etc.
If you search on L345 in the Gallery it possibly matches some of the other "fresh" paint jobs people did of the same color but again, not 100% sure. _________________ How to Post Photos

I just sprayed L87 Pearl White, looks similar.

Pearl White looks a little bit like light beige in some light and often in the shade.
I had an original paint '67 Squareback in Pearl White and at least one person thought it was a beige.
It always looked very off-white to me but I could understand the guy's "beige" comment

Yes, this truck is original paint but I believe not buffed out in this photo.
Obviously in the shade too.
I saw it in person and took this photo and it did NOT look beige at all. _________________ How to Post Photos

Thank you all very much! I pulled the bus out in the sun and must say I’m happy with the way the paint job came out and don’t hate the color but it’s definitely not a close match to light grey. I’d hate to wet sand everything to spray a different color but then again I’d hate to regret not correcting it every time I lay eyes on it. |
