I took the headlights out of my 1970 vert in order to troubleshoot some shorts. Once in there, found some rust so had some cleaning to do. All done now and, I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong that's keeping the headlights from sinking deep enough into the bucket.

I took video of what it all looked like prior to pulling it apart so I know I've got it back in the correct order. Any newbie mistakes that are easy to make?

Although it starting out talking about the headlight rings, the assembly of the headlight is discussed here...

I think the bits you want are more towards the bottom of the first page.

Thanks. I have studied this thoroughly and I've got it all back in the correct order but the lights still project too far. Driving me nuts.

Post a pic, front and especially side view, perhaps with and without the chrome ring, that way we get a better visual of your situation.

May be a silly question......are the tuning screws at 12 and 9 on both the left and the right headlight?

Seems like what's happening is that when I screw in the the tuning screws, they pull in at 12 and 9 o'clock and it gets real snug there. But it has the opposite effect on 3 and 6. Those are the areas that jut out.
