I am looking for examples of light beige cloth interior for a Jan 55.
I found a Aug 54 with a beige interior but can’t confirm that it was original. The seat looks to be 2 tone and front seats were covered.
Also, if confirmed correct, what is this material called?

When I had my 11/52 Zwitter, it came with a very-red interior, from a deluxe 1955 - I bought a 1954 bug, just for the interior - and switched 'em - then re-sold the '54 with red interior - the '52 Zwitter now had that original '54 interior, that looks like the one, you saw - go for it! - does look to be a two tone - a nice custom-touch - z

When I had the interior on my '54 redone, the material the trimmer used was Bedford Cord.

In case you guys weren't aware, West Coast Classics was recently sold! Morrie at Silver Linings Restorations out of the Salem, Oregon area purchased it from Lenny... I have had my '57 Blue Polka Dot interior on order since early March and just got a call from Morrie that said he is trying to satisfy previous orders, etc. but in general he is a big bus guy and starting to learn about bug and other VW interiors. He is moving the shop to Oregon over the next months, but expect some changes y'all!
I posted this info on Lenny's feedback forum page too... |
