My gas pedal is hard to push down (also a subaru swap engine) I believe its this spring making it difficult but not too sure, anyone know what this spring is called and to find one that can make it smooth.

Shocked That spring is called a hardware store special, you can likely find something softer at the same source. Or try moving it up to a hole beside where the cable is attached, that's a rather creative pedal crank modification, but the leverage for the spring is a little off.

Lots of rust makes me think that this creative engineering someone has done has been in use for some time. If that’s the case I’m thinking it must have been easier to use when built and now the issue is somewhere else. Somewhere like the throttle cable tube or the swivel points.

Honestly did not know if that was a typical bus mechanism so wasn't sure if there was a proper spring out there that was meant for it. Grabbed a spring set and replaced it with a bit softer one and works nice now. Thanks for help!
