Once again, VW newbie. Digging in to a ‘67 cabriolet project. Engine is a ‘68. Hadn’t run in years, filled the carb bowl with gas and started it up. Did this a few times for a total of 5? Minutes of running. Tonight (engine cold) I pulled all the plugs, propped the throttle open and did a compression test. 120,125,130,145 I’m thinking this is a close enough group and high enough to indicate good rings and valves. Only used to big block American cars though. Would you leave it alone? I’m thinking I will at the moment. |

Numbers look good! 145 is starting on the upper edge of not good, so keep an eye on that cylinder. Run that thing! _________________ Jimbo
