Sometimes snow is your friend. My brother and I recovered a 1930 Willys Whippet from the Great North Woods in the winter with the help of two toboggans. |

Selling the W/T stuff to a double cab builder will offset all of the acquisition costs. _________________

Reminds me of the barndoor 23 that old Tomtom rescued from a big tumble around 4 corners area, then stored in his place for decades.
Guy from Grand Junction put it back straight and kept most of the original paint! where there is a will, there is a way. _________________ Al Brase

Nice find! I like single coloured pressed bumper combi's.
Since the chassis and underside is pretty straight and rustfree, you might be able to turn it into a complete bus again with a suitable roofclip, lots of panel beating and some straightening. That would be awesome. |

Agreed, that is one which could be back on the road. A lot easier to find and install a roof than to repair massive lower rust. _________________ In Stereo, Where Available! |

Or it could make a great donor chassis for a bus with chassis rot. (There are a lot more of those around.) _________________ We are striving for perfection, to make our cars run forever, if possible.

If the upper part is good enough and the lower 10 inches are mostly gone, what's left could be considered an ''extended roofclip'', so yes!
You could as well revive this old thread by putting your find up there too;

Is there any news from this bus? Did you attempt to get it out of there? Just curious... |

Just a quick update everybody on this thread. We've evaluated every possible route to save this bus, and it's just too difficult and too expensive to do so. Sadly, it will stay where it is... |

I would love to rescue it, sadly I have yet to receive a reply as to its whereabouts.
It must be close enough to me as the landscape is a give away.
Hopefully I hear back |

I am sure that the community would come together to get it out. I know of two guys that love VW's (they each have over 5) and own excavating equipment. |

Based on its location and likely circumstances that put it there, I would not try to save any brakes parts from that one... |

I'm probably nearby as well! If you do hear back I would love to help with recovery or at least go and check it out! |
