This looks like the same steering wheel.
I know it’s the same picture.

https://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=2487323

yes same model as the one I have.

Wow, I was confused for a few minutes....Speedsterboy actually shows your car in his ad.

I think the wheel looks great, very much a period piece.

It took me some time but body prep on fender is complete.
I can now move on to high build primer.

what you see here is a small skin of metal glaze over epoxy. this should guaranty a very smooth finish with no flaw when painted.

the fender are now primed, so next step is to block sand these with 320 grit paper.

My God man! Those are awesome!

The quarter panels are pretty impressive as well! The reflection in them has no distortion!

thanks yeah the prep of those fender give me good challenge considering my short experience in restoration Smile
if I don't screw the paint job I should get a very slick result.

As for the panels, I will just need to remove the slight orange peel with cut and buff. I will do that when the fenders are complete and prior to re-assemble the parts.

Round hole is 1955-56. Triangle 1957-up.
Same drain holes were on early Ghias and type 2s.
