Fish, Zund, Evil Clown and others here would benefit from a simple photo enhancing process to "straighten out" and undistort your photos. If you have Adobe Photoshop, first import the photo. If it comes in at full screen, reduce it to about 35 % so that you have room outside of the photo borders.

Go to the "Edit- Full" tab, select "Image"- Transform- Distort". That places small dots at each corner of the photo and in the center of each side. Click on any dot, pull it outwards beyond the border of the photo into the work area. You'll see how the image distorts. Shots such as taken right off your TV tend to not be straight-on so that you have a squeezed image in the photo; the working area looks like a trapezoid. Pull either vertical edge outwards left or right into the work space. I usually use about 15-20% to get the proportions right. Then you can use the black edges of the photo work box as a visual guide for making the photo image parallel.

If you have a photo that seems to be "squashed down", you can pull those dots upwards or downwards to stretch the height.

When you have it done, click on the green checkmark at one of the bottom corners. Save the image not as Photoshop or PNG (usually the basic format for computer screen grabs), but as JPG format. Size it to within tS' photo limit, such as the max. length 1300 or 1500 pixels using Image-Resize- photo size.

Try it... Once you get the hang of it (can take dozens of attempts), you develop a standard procedure and each photo will only take a few minutes. Like less than 3. If you mess up one move, you can hit the "back/undo" arrow which brings the photo back to the last edit move.

I also often get significant improvements with the image itself by going to the command "Enhance"- auto smart fix, then color correction.

Photoshop is very complicated, and I'm sure there are other editing programs out there which can do the same work much more simply. I also use a full-screen monitor almost exclusively for such work; I cannot view images effectively nor work with them on the tiny cellphone screens.

Good advice on photoshop. Those shots were just screen grabs and my editing is very limited as I only have an old iPad that hasn't been able to up date for years.
I did search the gallery for Billy Jack, but I should have search the thread too.
I will try to be more diligent in posting.

Rail buggies in TV show "Mannix" (1974) episode named "Game Plan", season 8 #2. Private detective Joe Mannix (Michael Connors) is asked by his friend to find his daughter Jeannie, who is also Mannix's god-daughter. She was kidnapped and was being held in "friendly captivity" in a desert house. Mannix finds her, gets her out of the captor's house, and they escape in a yellow rail buggy from the kidnapper team.

Given the variety of Buses in several episodes and credits, I am thinking they rent them at the sites and put their logos on (stickers or magnets) just for that show. Nice Buses, though.

From 2007:

If you get BBC America on cable or Sat just tune in once in a while to the old "The Saint" series they run with Roger Moore as Simon Templar, circa 1966-1968. He drives a Volvo but many shows are based and filmed in Europe and a lot of VWs show up. These shows have obviously been remastered digitally and look great for their age...and they are color.

Just yesterday they had an episode from 1966 with the premise of some young woman being Hitler's daughter (she was a con artist), and the two bad guys following them around during the entire show were driving an old VW bug..with semiphores..I could not figure out the year but one part of it had Simon Templar attaching a gallon can of paint to the rear bumper guard (a US style of bumper) with a small hole in it at the bottom so he could track the VW going down some country roads.

Here are a few shots from that episode; they are not especially clear but do show enough detail that IMO the Beetle is a '60: full grip door handles, "robin's egg blue" color (L363 Arctic Blue?).

Templar in his Volvo P1800 with a planned, brief meet-up with one of the antagonists. A "night filter" on the camera darkens the daytime shooting light to resemble dusk.

Beetle drives off, effectively leaving a trail of paint on the road so that Templar can follow at a distance.

In movie "Against All Odds" (1984), Terry Brogan (Jeff Bridges) races his '83 Porsche 911 SC Cabrio against his friend Jake Wise (James Woods) in his black '83 Ferrari 308 QV GTSi. They approach and pass a white '77 Beetle ('77 is per IMCDb).

A few seconds later, they come upon another white late Beetle Cabrio which is most likely the very same car that was filmed during another take later that day, though now with the top up.

Note that the Beetle has what appear to be different wheels with chromed/polished center caps. IMDB lists the location as Sunset Blvd in the Beverly Hills area of Los Angeles California, I think heading west, just east of the UCLA campus.

In the James Bond movie "Octopussy" (1983), a white Super Beetle 1302 picks up hitchhiking Bond (Roger Moore) after his failed attempt with the red Ghia Cabrio. The Beetle's friendly German couple drop him off in the village square, where he steals the Alfa Romeo GTV 6 driving up behind them and rushes to the air base. Note the mismatched hubcaps.

In the movie "Winning" (1969), race drive Frank Capua (Paul Newman) performs some engine tuning on his stepson Charley's (Richard Thomas, his first movie appearance) gold metalflake buggy. Does not appear to be a Meyers Manx due to the flat slope that goes across the front of the hood.

Note that the engine is a Porsche 356, with what appear to be Solex P40 II-4 dual-throats. Those were factory fitted to the 356B Super 90 and 356 SC engines.
