I'm pretty new to the VW world although l did have a 69 Baja 40 some years ago but that's a lot of water under the bridge. Where do you Guys and Gals get your online parts.

Wolfsburg West has the closest to original parts and also the highest quality IMHO. Bug City has a really large NOS and used inventory as well.

Do you have any type of shop local to you, and what items are you looking for?

The majority of online vendors simply sell the parts, and have little to no knowledge on actual use of them. If you have zero questions, or issues with what you are buying, the “where” doesn’t much matter much as there are many suppliers with variations on part cost/shipping.

If you need assistance on installation/set up, or a recommendation on which part to use, you will be miles ahead to support any local shop you may have access to. Imo, supporting a local shop on parts you don’t have any questions on is a better idea as well.

The bottom line is you will most likely need some assistance, or have a question that needs answering. Regardless if it’s online, or a local vendor, those with info that would help you are much more willing to share that info if you actually bought items from them.

Depends on what you are looking for.
I have bought parts from the following places with good results.

1. Jbugs
2. Wolfburgs West
3. West Coast Metrics
4. CIP1 (DHL Shipping can be finicky but parts are fine)
5. Ebay
6. Rock Auto
7. Amazon
8. Orielly's (Starter came with a lifetime warranty)
9. Classifieds here when people were not asking crazy unrealistic money.

X2 ^^^^^^^^ it’s logical that people would think of the vendors that have money to advertise. Problem is you call and ask questions and you’ll be talking to an order taker that knows only what’s on the computer they are looking at. This little mom and pop is located dead center of the United States so shipping is reasonable, but they ship world wide.

When you call you’ll be talking to the owner with over 25 years experience. He can’t afford to sell shitty parts and sources the best available. It’s a secret 🤫 don’t tell anyone. www.Bughaus.com

Where in the PNW are you located?

For used parts. I get them from Avery's Air Cooled, in Kelso, Wa.
