It's an old trick, you just pull the tension spring out, find the joint, unscrew and with a sharp dykes trim a little off the female (larger diameter) end. To reassemble, counter-wind the ends a few turns first, then screw them back together. Don't overdo it, a little makes a big diff, like I said keep it to 1/8 - 3/16".

Forums were certainly vibrant 8 years ago. The age of "ThE iNtErNeT iS sErIoUs BuSiNeSs." Rolling Eyes

Nice job on the durability of the fix!

More folks need to update like this! I'm debating new flywheel vs polish atm, having a hard time deciding if my flywheel groove is bad or not.

I used 10c method on my auto trans flex plate.
I also used the SABO seal and am now pushing 10,000 miles without a crankshaft leak.

I used the 18mm x 1.5 x 60mm removal bolt as an arbor by clamping the head in the vise and spinning the flex plate back and forth on the threads.
