I’m having a hard time finding good enough pictures but I’m hoping someone here can help. My ‘67 apron is less than great, inner piece at bottom of trailing edge is mostly rot. Inside surfaces facing engine compartment have a couple holes. Latching area is fine and exterior looks pretty good. So i’m wondering if I buy a ‘66 repro if those areas are the same? I’d just cut and weld the crappy parts and keep the good unique ones. Thoughts?

Why not just save yourself the troubles, hassles and regrets - and just get yourself the proper thing?

I guess I’m inept at the search function, missed that…. Thank you!

I have a similar problem. My ‘67 rear apron is pretty wasted. I looked at the ‘66-earlier rear apron and felt it was shaped too differently that it wouldn’t make a good donor for reconstructing as a ‘67. If you are going down the path of reconstructing your rear apron, consider a ‘68-later rear apron as a base. It has more material to work with (more area between the bottom of the deck lid and the exhaust tube cutouts). The area underneath the deck lid on mine is still in good shape so I plan to cut it out from my original apron and transplant it to the ‘68 apron.

What ever you decide to do, post pics of your progress for the rest of us to see.

Thanks for the info. Makes sense to go with the ‘68 using that concept. Not hearing back about the classified ads so I’ll probably take this path.

Not hijacking the topic, but I feel your frustration on this trend of late - with sellers advertising in the classifieds! Seriously, it seems like about 3 out of 5 advertisers lately never even reply to a simple inquiry about their parts for sale or shipping costs anymore, yet the parts have not been sold and remain in the classifieds. I'm not talking about a "late" reply of a couple days, I mean zero reply, period! Go figure.... Confused
