Has anybody removed the short track rod on a barndoor, and replaced it with a long track rod from one spindle to the other? I know lots of the guys who drag race beetles do this to eliminate bump steer.

I'm just weighing up my steering options, and doing this would really help me I think. After a quick look underneath my bus I wasn't sure it's possible due to the gear linkage etc being in the way. If you have done this, have you got any photos you can share?
