those actually went with the Fastback I had before this. I wish I could find a decent pair of bumper guards for this one though. You got a pair, or maybe the one I’m missing on the front by chance?? _________________ 1971 Squareback, fully bagged, 1776.

looks really good, bud. would love to see the air ride suspension system in greater detail. what size tires are you running? I have mine currently dropped with the similar set up as what you had, 3 clicks up front and 2 in the rear. |

What would you like to see from the setup? Running a Viair 444 comp on a 5gal tank all mounted in the spare tire well. I had a friend 3D print a radio bezel that houses my dual needle air gauge and 2 manual rocker switches under the dash. I'm running an Valley Autowerks bag beam narrowed 3" (would do 2") with link/king pin drop spindles that were modded to fit type3 disk brake setup. Welded a cross/support bar between the 2 rear shock towers and welded the bag brackets to that and the lower control arms. Cut & trimmed the shock towers on the outside to clear the left springs. I eliminated the rear torsions and maintained the shocks both front & back. I want to trim some more in the rear since I want it to sit lower there. The front sits on the pan already. _________________ 1971 Squareback, fully bagged, 1776.

Thanks, my second favorite wheel. if I ever get a chance, I'd be running porsche cookie cutters. _________________ 1971 Squareback, fully bagged, 1776.

So building a 3rd motor (I’ll go into details later about that) with a new mechanic and while we were at it we decided to do a full flow setup. Brass fittings for mock up while we figure out how we are going to set it up. Trimmed the mustache bar some and once we’re done we’ll clean it all up. Also got the VS exhaust wrapped.

Nice! if you have a welder i would maybe fill in the cut areas at the corners on your rear support.. but Im probably being overly cautious. |

Thats exactly what we have planned to do. We are also adding a strip on the backside to help strengthen what we cut out too. Like you said, over caution but better to be safe than sorry. _________________ 1971 Squareback, fully bagged, 1776.

honestly I just went with the option that they offer. They just have the one tan option for it. It’s a nice shade in person though. _________________ 1971 Squareback, fully bagged, 1776.

Was looking for a stock gas tank since mine went bad (old mechanic used a liner, it started coming undone and clogging everything up) and after searching for a while I just asked my fabricator buddy if he could just make me a custom one.
I used a piece of the neck from an old tank with the VW cap. It sits 2” taller and is raised to clear the air bag & fitting. It’s right at 11.5gal total now vs 10gal stock. Overall I’m very happy with it and the work he did for me. _________________ 1971 Squareback, fully bagged, 1776.

Nice work on that tank Ox.
Although I would do something a little different with the vent filter, connect a small diameter hose to it and run it out under the car. |

thanks, I think he did a great job on it in the week it took him to build it. The vent isn’t final. I actually just put it on there for the pictures. The end will probably be as you said with a hose exiting out somewhere. 👍🏼 _________________ 1971 Squareback, fully bagged, 1776.
