The seller admitted he may have not known the market that well and sold it too low. He is not a VW collector but a 356 collector.
I think it's priced right in the middle for single cabs. Those that are refurbished and painted are asking 40 and above. Those that need work, are rusted, may or may not have an engine or are just beat up are asking in the 20s and below. Of course every VW is worth only what it sells for.
I don't need to sell it. Im not even sure I want to sell it but I have had enough emails before I listed it asking to let them know when/if I ever decided to sell it. If it sells fine, if not then I get to keep a great single cab.
A win win.

I thought it was overpriced at the lower figure, but obviously someone paid that. time will tell if anyone is willing to step up at the higher price. For the most part, people expect decent paint or decent patina when you start getting into the 30s, and this truck has neither.

My old Scab made the whines! lol
I rebuilt or replaced all the mechanical stuff on it. It was a solid driver 7 years ago..... Its not worth $35k.

35 g , no problem If that engine in the first picture stays in the bed and goes with the deal when I buy it !!

Nice Velvet Green bus, but $70K? I don’t think it would get that much even on BAT. Though these days who knows? Who would have thought a clipped single cab would get over $20K?

I especially like the use of early (long) and late (short) hinges on that forward cargo door.
I have to wonder if the door swings on an even plane or if it swings all cockeyed.

Who needs seams?
I especially like those rust bubbles popping up on the now conjoined dog leg/B pillar and on the lower edge of the cargo door. True quality work right there.
