|
|
Anyone had trouble removing the dynamo/fan assembly from a 25hp fan housing?
It seems that the fan blades are catching on the edges of the hole in the housing. I've never seen anything like it - they normally just drop in/out on all the other VWs I've worked on.
It must have going IN through that hole so why won't it come out?
Or do I need to be a bit more forceful? I don't want to damage the fan.
All I'm trying to do is get it out to replace the dynamo bearings...
Thanks in advance knowledgable people! _________________ Good day sir |

Try removing the fan / generator nut and separate the fan from the generator shaft, not exactly rocket science ! |

That's what I ended up doing - but I just don't see how the fan fitted in through the hole if it won't come back out! Normally you can just drop them or out in as a complete assembly. _________________ Good day sir |

Most likely, it went together the same way you took it apart. Perhaps the fan is not correct for the 25 hp engine ? |
