the trans in my 74 bug is about to give up the ghost it howls louder then the engine and when I drain the fluid it was more metal then oil so I picked up a 69 irs trans to replace it, are there any issues when swapping the nose cones over from a 2 bolt nose cone to a 3 bolt nose cone

Rear transmission mounts are different in 1969 and 1974; but you should be able to figure that out. I'm not familiar with VWs newer than 1972, so maybe the existing 1974 rear mounts will work as is.

It (the nose cone, that is) should swap over just fine. Personally if you need new mounts I would also go with the older style rear mounts, if you have the carrier. They seem to have less flex and are a bit stronger. That with the late style front mount is a good setup.

You need to put the 74s nose cone on since the front mount is different. You'll also need to add the centering collar to the pressure plate.

You'll need a pressure plate WITH a center ring if you cannot add such ring to the 1974 pressure plate.

A few years ago I had to obtain a pressure plate with such center ring when I installed an engine from a 1971 into my 1970.

Have a early pressure plate with throw out bearing and early rear trans mount already. Received a replacement front mount aswell. Awesome appreciate it.
So the nose cones just swap over there's no modifications or anything needed to the nose cones themselves?
