Have an AE case engine, believe it to be in stock 1600 configuration. When I bought it, the oil pump housing was installed but the gears had fallen out and were lost.

3 rivet cam.

According to the case age chart, this should be a 71-73 1600 DP. I largely agree with this.

I’m trying to figure out what to do for an oil pump. Bought a 26mm, and a 30mm. The 26mm is listed for 71+ model year, in addition to being 26mm.

The 26mm has the same size gears as the Schadek that fell apart; but the gears in the new 26mm are taller.

I intend on replacing the entire pump; but I’m just looking for some advice on which pump is the correct one to use, regardless of what I’ve purchased.

I’ll try to post a pic of the empty oil pump.

So your case has 8mm studs. Your options are flat cam or dished for the pump. Remove the old pump case and look inside and see which cam you have.

26mm is all you need for a stock engine.

Flat.

Dished cams are 4 rivet.

You have a oil pump for a dished cam.

I really like the CB Performance Maxi2 combination pump/filter, has 26mm gears. CB sells two versions, for flat and for dished camshaft gears.

The 26mm Schadek pump in the CB Maxi 3 comes with the drive shaft set up for dished cam., it can be modified to fit flat cam gear by driving the shaft in until the pump cover end of the shaft is flush with the face of the gear. It is delivered 2.0mm below the surface of the gear.

Can I use a 30MM geared pump if I want to?

Good or bad?

Use a 26mm pump.
I do in a 2180 engine. And never have any oil pressure issues!
