That is pretty slick.
We made several different set-ups to get into different locations.

Your tong sets look great. Are you using the Harbor Freight set-up? Did you use the standard H.F. tongs and modify them or did you find a different source?

Just got a set of 12" tongs so I can reach up into the seam of the rear corners from the belt line on down.

I'm not sure solid copper rods are the best choice. The tongs that are available from other sources use a copper-chromium alloy (C18200) . Maybe the alloy tongs hold up better than solid copper ones or they can be machined easier, since copper is known to "grab" tools while being worked.

I asked Andrew, My friend who owns the spot welder, He bought regular copper round stock and bent the shape on the long set. Used a lathe to make a threaded end on the tip side and used tips available at HF. The short tongs he found online from a google search.

That's good to know. I searched and found a company on eBay that sells tongs and tips that was willing to make the set shown in the pictures. The company is Thrasher Products and the contact person is named Mark ~ good products and really a good guy to deal with.
