I need some advice on where to start. I have a 2332 bug with WEBER dual 48 IDF's. It's jetted for a much higher altitude than I am. I purchased the car from Colorado and now it's on Long Island. Basically at sea level. It's way to rich. It currently has 140 mains, 185 air corrections and 50 idle jets.
Zero bog or stumble. Just a sooty tailpipe. I'm thinking on going to a 190-195 air and a 130 or 135 main and leaving the idles at 50. Suggestions??
Thank you.

ok just for starters colorado jetting would be much leaner than long island...density of air decreases the higher you go...so fewer 02 molecules per volume requires fewer gas molecules ....so if it is actually too rich(check with wideband etc) i'd first be looking for fuel pressure too high, floats that have become "waterlogged" and are floating too low, dirt that got down the jet stack and clogged the air correction jet etc....its been about 40 years but i think i ran about 160 in the 48's in my race car

Post in the Performance Forum you will meet folks with set-ups like yours. I would buy a set of numbered drills and buy the 130's and drill as needed until you find the sweet spot.
