|
|
My oil pan is compromised at several places already making it risky to use it any longer. Looking a new or well preserved oil pan to buy.
My engine is 1.9 L Diesel (1Y engine code which is similar to the AAZ but without the turbo). I am not sure when previous owner did that engine swap (from the stock 1.6 diesel to the 1996 Jetta 1.9 Diesel (1Y code) whether they kept the original oil pan from the 1.6 Diesel engine or whether this oil is the 1.9 Diesel oil pan.
For what is worth the transmission is also not the original transmission from the 1.6 Diesel but I think I have a wasserboxer 091 or 091/01 transmission
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks |

The diesel oil pan is a bizarre looking thing, cast aluminum, and the bottom is dead flat. The Jetta oil pan is none of these things. I have one that I would sell for a fair price, but shipping might be pricey since I'm a long way away in Maine. It also requires a different oil pump pickup, which I have too. As for the transmission, there's a lot posted about tranny ID, and I always have to refer to it, because I can't remember the differences. By the way, my van has a 1Y, and I just replaced my 5spd diesel trans with an 4spd from an AC van. It is so much better matched with this engine than the stock trans, that I just can't believe it. I'd fear that the WB trans would be geared too tall, unless your landscape is very flat.

Here's a new one for $126 delivered. That is likely the best price you will find for new:

Quality German in Montclair would have used ones. |
