Your bus is incredibly nice! You’ve done a fabulous job restoring it. I have followed along since the beginning of this thread and this is one of if not the best restores on this site. Congrats! |

You are making great progress!
I can see you are not completely finished installing the axle boots… so good place for a suggestion:
Best to orient the axle boot seam (horizontal) to either point towards the front or rear of the bus. Any other orientation makes excess stress / can cause premature failure.

Brakes are in and regulated, brakes are bled. No leaks 🤞🏻
shock absorbers installed, axle boots fixed in place (Didn't put them completely horizontally. to avoid oil leaks). Oil in the axle 👍🏻
fuel shut off solenoid installed
Now the starter and finishing the wiring in the back
Finally time for the ENGINE 😎😆 first drive 🚌 🎉 |

Found some inox adapters for the heater tubes, Command wires installed,
not sure where the return springs are connected.
After some tries it works as it should be 👍🏻
battery and disconnect switch installed
They send me the carpet all rolled up... can't get it nice and flat again 🥲

This is such a great build!
But has this changed?:

I thought the collective wisdom was to point the seams to 10 or 2 for this exact same reason? I've never had issues with good boots pointed the 'old' way, but if people are seeing them stress worse like that, I'll try the 'new' way next time. |

He did it your way: "... axle boots fixed in place (Didn't put them completely horizontally. to avoid oil leaks)." _________________ aka: Evan

I've never seen springs like that on the flap arms... when were those used? _________________ How to Post Photos

... bummer.
But this is my suggestion: Do not use it by now.
Since the warm summer time is all gone by now, keep it stored facedown with some flat weight on top of it until better sunny days. Or if you have heated floors, just do it during the winter season and check back by spring or early summer? |

Seems like i’m missing 2 door seals 🤭
Almost there, the end is nearby 😎
Apart from the interior … 😫 |

Incredible build of an awesome, like new bus in my favorite color. That engine runs very nice and smooth too.

Gefeliciteerd met dit fantastische mooie resultaat! Woont u in Vlaanderen? Groet uit Utrecht.

I’m not sure you have any seals missing. I believe it is only meant to have a top and bottom seal on the body and the doors all the way around. Happy to be corrected |
