TPS - clicks at idle but not WOT

If I may ask a similar question for an '84 -

The layout is different - there are 2 switches, this is the older style, and the Idle switch is fine and the engine starts and idles well.

The problem is the WOT switch, the metal tab (the electrical connector) has broken off. Otherwise it looks positioned correctly and getting triggered but of course it's not sending the signal to the wire because it's not there.

So what does the WOT switch do? The van seems to run fine without it. Are there dozens of horsepower waiting for the switch before they kick in?

A new switch seems hard to find (is this true?), it's an odd size(?) although it's just a micro switch.

Should I try to repair it - I might be able to attach a new tab to it.

It is almost always better to fix an original than to install a questionable report item.
There is a modern alternative switch for the 2.1 on the market, not sure it will work on the 1.9

It tells the computer “full speed ahead captain!”
Full enrichment so yes, probably another pony or two.
