I am replacing both side panels with ones I bought from MT Manufacturing. I have noticed a bump in at the bottom and some wavy bumps at the top of the panel that does not look like what is on my car.
If some one post some pictures of their early 60's Ghia's lower inside panel it would be great. (I could not locate any on Samba)

I want it to look 100% stock. I plan on welding boxed nuts on the inside. I have made the boxes from the detentions of a partial rusted one I got off the car. Now the nuts. I think they are M8x1.25 16mm square type. I can't find them anywhere.
For anyone else wanting to build the boxes I believe they are ID 8mm deep x 17mm wide x 22mm long.

Good find, but its a 13mm nut. I measured the one in its box and it has a 4mm shoulder on each side of the hole. Thus 4+8+4=16mm |

The "bump" on the bottom side of the metal would be for a convertible drain hose.
I replaced mine (1971 vert) and had to drill holes for the rear window drain hoses. _________________ No Dents

THANK YOU!!!!!
I had to remove the driver side panel, to reshape it due to distortion of the bumper bracket channel, and could not think of a reason for such a HUGE drain hole in an area that should not see much water. I R smart

Bought a new inside fender, but it is +67 as they all are. The geometry is not the same. Have cut and weld it to work. Welding it from the inside was most difficult.
