Air cooled Westy re-posted to BaT linked here:
https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1980-volkswagen-vanagon-westfalia-9-2/
It sold in August for $22K but the sale "was unwound due to a misunderstanding about the replacement engine."
It states a repaint in brilliant Orange but looks like Assuan Brown to me, lol _________________ 1991 Westfalia EJ251, 1972 Volvo 1800 ES |

And sold for $23.5K - all in all a pretty good buy at that price given the mileage, condition and Subie install. _________________ 1991 Westfalia EJ251, 1972 Volvo 1800 ES |

That's a pretty van with a surprising amount of deferred maintenance for it to go at $31K.
Quote: |
- The seller also states the air-conditioning compressor belt was removed and the system is currently inoperative
- the seller states the digital clock does not keep accurate time and that the front blower motor is inoperative.
|
Although the owner did care to keep it clean and original...

Because locks are mechanical I always taped them before washing to keep water out so other pic had tape residue.
Extra points for the factory Heidelberg am/fm cassette: Amenities include cruise control, a factory Heidelberg cassette stereo

This ended yesterday - a 1988 Syncro 1.8T with a $47K bill from SAH and some very suspect body work - reserve not met at $40K - guessing the body work scared off the bidders:

Wow first thing I noticed was they filled in the seam behind the ds door. It looks so weird to me. |

I would empty my wallet for that, which I realize would mean more if my wallet wasn't already close to empty, but I don't think selling Sinka and Turbo S would cover it. <sigh> Very nice, though. It's one of the rarities when black wheels look right. _________________ Now: 2003 New Beetle Turbo S / 1990 Single Cab Transporter / 2014 Tiguan R-Line 4motion / 2013 Tiguan S / 2002 Golf GLS TDI
