Looking at the Bentley electrical schematic, page 97.204.
There are squares with numbers inside. There are two squares in the middle of the page, labeled 35 and 137.
I cannot find out what the squares represent.
Thanks |

the track where that wire "continues" as explain on 97.4
If you look at the bottom of the picture, You'll see the track's number _________________ 1982 AC P27 - 2.0 FI FED - 091 - BA6

Thank you.
Another question, it appears all the fuel injectors are wired in parallel (Page 97.206). Do they all fire at the same time? |

Yes, all 4 injectors always fire together.
Every rotation of the engine they all fire 2 times.
Every rotation of the distributor they all fire 4 times.

whats typically called "batch fire" _________________ MegaSquirt resource - SpitfireEFI.com

I am having a tough time wrapping my head around this. This happens when you get old.
So an injector is firing every 180 degrees of its piston stroke? Every TDC and every BDC, or roughly there about? |

Not exactly . . .
The Vanagon EFI triggers the ALL the injectors, at the SAME TIME, every 180 degrees of crankshaft rotation. So, it is not dependent on where the individual pistons are in their respective strokes.
This is viable since the fuel injected will, if the intake valve is closed, stay suspended in the intake air until the intake valve opens, if the injectors are atomizing the fuel as they are designed to do. If the injectors (or some of them) are not atomizing the fuel properly, then this batch-fired approach will reveal some of its weaknesses - - poor operation in warm-up, excess fuel consumption, and poor idle quality. So, with the Vanagon EFI, it is important to have your injectors cleaned from time to time.
The later EFI systems like Bosch Motronic (1.8T, for example) use "sequential" injection where the injectors fire at the ideal time for each individual cylinder. Note, however, that for high loads and large injection events, the injector "open" duration can be so long that it no longer matches only the intake stroke.
Even later EFI systems use direct injection, which is a whole other kettle of fish. _________________ '86 Syncro Westy SVX |

I don't understand why these symptoms would be specific to the batch-fire approach. In a sequential approach, wouldn't the problem be the same? One bad injector, no or not enough fuel in the mixture, then bad idle and performance? _________________ '90 Little Blue Truck, 2WD auto, FAS GenV 2.0 NA (AVH) |

I guess that may be why the most efficient RPM is 3500, got to keep that air moving. |
