B+ to battery from B+ of regulator probably a #8 or #10
For D+ of generator to D+ of regulator a #8 or #10...
For DF from Generator to DF of regulator Probably a #12 or #14
Terminal 61 or regulator it GEN lamp probably a #16.... _________________ “Fear The Government That Wants To Take Your Guns" - Thomas Jefferson.

I bet you just pulled those off the top of your head -- and pretty damn good. The answer the OP seeks is posted in the wiring diagrams posted in the "Technical" section. I grabbed the '67 Bug diagram for a look. Conversion charts for metric wire size to American Wire Gauge are widely available on the web.
B+ to battery and D+ between the generator and regulator is 6.0mm^2, slightly larger than 10 gauge but closer to 10 gauge than 8 gauge. They used the same size with the alternator Bugs so 10 gauge should be fine with the lower current limit of the generator.
DF is, 1.0mm^2, which is between 16 and 18 gauge.
Terminal 61 to the generator lamp is 0.5mm^2, almost exactly 20 gauge. _________________

Yeah... after 60 years of doing this stuff you learn a little....
And looked for the metric to AWG chart for the converting the numbers and could no find one, after wasting 20 minuets
I decided to just take a run at it.... Guess the "69" chart I was trying to use lacked the conversion numbers.... _________________ “Fear The Government That Wants To Take Your Guns" - Thomas Jefferson.

I have this chart on my garage wall at the workbench. I took a picture of it so I could type it up here. I dropped all the lines above 6 gauge because I do not have current ratings for them -- duty cycle becomes an ever larger part of the limit. For long wires, like from one end of the car to the other, I recommend going up one size on this chart. With a 12 volt system you need to minimize voltage drops.
Code: |
AWG mm^2 mOhm/ft amps
6 13.3 .395 70
8 8.37 .628 50
10 5.26 .999 35
12 3.31 1.59 25
14 2.08 2.53 16
16 1.31 4.02 10
18 .823 6.39 6
20 .518 10.2 4
