- Flywheel improperly torqued
- Egged holes in crankshaft
- Purchased Flywheel & Crankshaft Drill Jig 8 Hole
- Purchased new Dowel Pins
- Purchased new Gland Nut
- Machined New Dowel Pin Holes
- Installed New flywhel
- Press fit with loctite
- Torque Gland Nut

Nice work. I wish my 8 dowel spg roller crank is as easy a fix. _________________ 1973 standard, yellow, lowered, 3” narrowed front, 1600 blo-thru turbo w/single dell 15.4@86, so far
11.41 et buggy. Long gone

Make sure you really torque it down hard- the new four holes are likely larger than the originals unless you carefully reamed them to size.
My flywheel lasted like this until a loss of an exhaust rocker mounting clip, closing the valve caused a lot of shaking and backfiring then the new pins quickly ovalled out too. _________________ Ancient vehicles and vessels
1974 VW T2 : Devon Eurovette camper with 1641 DP T1 engine, Progressive carb, full flow oil cooler, EDIS crank timed ignition.
Engine 1: 40k miles (rocker shaft clip fell off), Engine 2: 30k miles (rebuild, dropped valve). Engine 3: a JK Preservation Parts "new" engine, aluminium case: 26k miles: new top end.
Gearbox rebuild 2021 by Bears.

That looks like a cast flywheel. Hope your pin fit on the new pins is perfect, or they will egg out in no time.
