Just blow into the top with a turbo....the warm air problem is resolved.
The bonus is you get an easy 50% more hp and up to 150% if you want to work at it a bit.
My turbo heats the air an average of about 20 degrees when off boost. A little more if the ambient temps are over 100* F. and a little less if the ambient temps are below 70*F.
For a sniper TBI FI setup or even a carb it will eliminate any cold intake problems.
At least it did on my blow through 34 Pict system..........that setup worked really nice until I got addicted to the boost.

yep, turbo preheat works great for me too.
it's just the initial startup I don't have patience for on a cold morning...

Tell us how it works in real weather Mike, that was just a tiny tickle! Wink

Oh and just wing one of those Bambies and take it along for the barby... you can just cut the bruised part off and feed it to the dog.

Kudos on your trip out in the weather
FYI I had one of those draw through motors on my dyno a while back.It had a fancy Barry Grant carb , fully polished Turbonetics turbo, very nice hand finished Comp Eliminators and the worst home made intake manifold I ever saw in my life it made 290 at the flywheel with about 20psi boost. With a decent intake it would have made over 400hp

Mine too, I only take it out on nice days. This was on a nice balmy - 24 day. Wink
Days like this are where you find out what really works in weather and what doesn't. Ka-duds with no chokes and no carb pre-heat by the way doesn't. It ran but not run well enough to be competitive. Far too many stubbles and farts to have good throttle control for ice racing. It was either bogging or spinning tires, nothing between. It had me wishing for VW's old type 3 EFI, they were silky smooth even in the coldest weather.

Back onto the Sniper
I just found this picture that I took during the testing of centre mount injection systems on the dyno.
Conclusion=
Did it make any more HP at full throttle - No
Did it idle like crap with fuel spraying onto the butterfly compared to underneath the butterfly - Yes

Who makes that center mount manifold that’s open in the center. It lets you use stock accelerator cable.

I have no idea. I just drive it. This is what the rear looks like. Quite frankly I don't like the back end, it's a bit ugly.

One of the problems I have is that the air cleaners hit the tail lights and body. It's really tight for Webers even with these thin LED tail lights.

I see Holley is now offering an even smaller option that might be more suited to our smaller engines. They now have a 1 barrel system to replace the Autolite 1100 carburetor used on a number of older American iron with small 6 cylinder engines. If this Holley F.I. offering is the same size as the carb it is intended to replace the throttle should be about 37mm.
