Transmission Check

Are there any differences between a stock 57 and 58 VW beetle transmission? Are they interchangeable without modifications?

The transaxles are the same. However, the brakes were redesigned for 1958.

Thanks - it sounds like everything except the brakes is the same. Do you know what part(s) of the brake system was changed?
