seems to me if you have an early pop top westy (The kind with the hammock in the pop top) then the rack in the other part is the perfect size for a tire. Just put it up there and you get the space inside for more bedding while not having it up front

I'm working on a new camper now and having that dilemma. It's not a pop top though, so there's no rack. I don't want to put it up front and can't stand it intruding into the bedding space, so I might build a roof rack for it instead

No holes except in the bumper, and you can change your mind at any time.

I ran this on two different buses for years with absolutely no problems.

I think we discussed this design on Facebook about 9 months back. I'm fairly serious about changing from the typical screwed on unit most folks have, filling the holes, and putting this on, since I'm upgrading to big tires with a lot more weight to them.

In truth, I want the ability to go out "Logo Nude" because I won't advertise for VW of TODAY, by running their logo on my ride that was built THEN. Not after the "great copyright killings" of the late 1990s. VW as a company lost my affections forever after that.

Since VW changed their logo (now the capri pants version), your old logo would not necessarily be an endorsement of the "new VW." No one but a VW nut would get this, buy you'll know...

Prefer the emblem. Have the spare tire on the luggage rack but want to get a rear swing out carrier mounted on the back at some point.

I've seen too many people destroy the face of there bus with spare tires. I have personally removed probably a dozen of them & installed emblems. Looks like its supposed to be!

The oil canning effect it has on the sheet metal makes me sick too.

We should be quick to decide. Some people are into this.
