Here are my 90 control knobs, see the bumps on the edges of two of them?
I never noticed the little square of radiating heat next to the red dot until I looked at the photo.
What does this mean?
Red dot is hot but the square heat waves???

Those aren't square heat waves, they are sine heat waves.

Indeed! Great sleuthing there! And I would think the little blue “window panes” to the lower left of the sliders indicates “outside air flow” to four rear vents? _________________ “Most everyone’s mad here. Then again, the four blue rectangles which are roughly the same proportions as the fresh air outlets could refer to them. Two in the front at the outboard edged of the dash and the ones in the back. But there are two on each side in the back so there should be 6 "window panes". But then again, maybe they refer to.....................
If there is another post to this topic, I'll be amazed. I think we must have covered just about every thing imaginable regarding the levers and their action.........not including the mechanical components, which would be OT.
As the weather cools, we will be using them more frequently. Have to say I really appreciate my wife's Volvo with automatic climate controls and easy to read symbols of where the air is going. Push on her head and your head gets warm. Push on her feet and your feet get warm. Push on her torso and you get investigated for abuse. If you set the temp at 68º and it's hot outside, the AC comes on. If it's cold the heat comes on. And a 3256 speed fan control which doesn't seem to need a Mullendore port or any messing with at all. When Uncle Harry dies and the inheritance comes through, I'll take it to FAS and one of the upgrades would be to point to the Volvo and say, do this.

Yes, the electronic climate controls on most modern vehicles are light years ahead of our analog sliders. Even the icons are better! Remember, today’s auto engineers weren’t even born when most of these Teutonic Classics were built! _________________ “Most everyone’s mad here.
