While we're being REAL honest, I agree with everything Dave said. I'm sick (not COVID sick mind you) of the status quo at hand.
The worst thing has been not having any control over the mess from the highest places down to the lowest in our country, which I recognize less and less, as the one I was born in back in '68.

I want to be real honest. This CIVID shit has caused a change in my personality, and I don't even have it. All the lockdowns, restrictions, mask BS, and vaccine mandates has caused us all a lot of stress. The last year I have noticed a change in my personality. We as a country are in trouble, and I'm very concerned about our freedoms and liberties as a Nation. The protest, riots, and looting in the name of justice along with the political corruption effecting our country has all contributed to my bad attitude. I'm retired and shaking my head if my SSI, Retirement, and 401(k) are gonna be stolen to give to the poor and lazy that never worked for anything. Now we have these school board situations about CRT and gender identity. Then there is the climate change hoax. EV is not the answer to that scam. Just like some of you here I have a broke VW and the parts I need are sitting somewhere on a ship off the coast of Calif.
I made a few smartassed and rude comments on a few of the FB VW Group pages that I deeply regret. To anybody I offended I appolagise. I am taking a break from posting on all Internet platforms.
Everything will be fine. Looking forward to getting everything back in order and racing next season.

Very well said David, Much of us worry about that stuff also. Its very stressfull as things are getting very real, its not just talk anymore. New laws and mandates are happening that are even more important subject then our hobby. kids being robbed of their innocence to have subjects forced down their throats that they should not have to be thinking about, and at the same time given the idea that some of their race/cultures are automatically guilty, and some are told their race/culture are not capable to succeed without Government assistance/intervention. Its only gonna divide instead of unite.
Stay positive. distancing from news is good sometimes to keep our sanity. |

Good to hear your OK, Dave. I'm pretty new to the sport, only had my sand rail since 2016 or 17, I can't remember for sure but I've got underwear older than a lot of the people on hear so I for one appreciate your "speak your mind, tell us how you really feel attitude" and of course your vast knowledge of the sport. Looking forward to those gems in the future & I whole heartedly agree, this country is going to hell in a handbasket if a few people in charge don't get their heads out of there collective asses real soon. |

There's also a few other things at work against us..
Polarization for one.
You're either a right wing flat earth climate change denier,
Or a dirty toe welfare grubbing socialist tree hugger,
And nothing in between.
The move of everyone to the far right or far left is the result of AI, among other things.
Now that social media is our news source, where is the truth?
Technology and it's puppet masters are pulling your strings. Don't let them. Disconnect.
Come to the Samba! We all have fun and never talk politics, right?
Look how much love we all have for each other, regardless of political affiliation..
My wife's pension was recently taken and cut in half (by billionaires) after over 20 years at the same hospital.
After fighting front-line they rewarded her by reneging.
Like many things, it's far too complicated to figure out in one lifetime.
When everything gets so complicated, you have to believe instead of actually understanding.
Not a good place to be..
Keep it simple. Build VWs and burn wood! _________________ Bus Motor Build

Ok, he responded so we know what's up and it's turning political now.
Good idea to take a break from Social Media.
If you want a wood pile thread, start one in Off Topic.
Don't post wood pile pics in the Samba gallery though as they are not VW-related... unless your VW is in the photo too.
Thank you.
