The bullihutzen scoops are the ones installed on the Thingamajigger.

Can see the product and my install in Thingamajigger thread.

Page 10 on the thingamajig er thread.
I've got a set of plastic ones in my shop. I don't recall where in the eu they came from. The blitz ones from the thingamajig er thread looked fiberglass.
I'm going to ditch mine and build some out of sheet metal or aluminum.

Bullihutzen scoops are fiberglass. Mine were a good thickness too, with decent gel coat.
Hopefully the others come the same way.

Really nice scoops.
However, your letting air and unless you let it out it's not as good as it could be.
Who's the guy who posted a picture of the tail lights with the extension of the frame toward the center with the exhaust vents in them?

The other alternative is to have one scoop as the inlet and the other facing aft to get the air flowing across the engine compartment.
It's not going to look good with one facing aft.

Last i look at the engine bay, i can see all the way to the ground. I dont think it will have problem venting unless you cover the bottom of the engine bay like the new car does.

ooh... Sh*t...forgot about that, dumbass again! Embarassed lol!
It's got me wondering again about that airflow under the van around the gearbox.
I was thinking a while ago of making scoops under there to direct the air directly at the gearbox to help cool it off.

I made one using abs plastic. Very easy, first made a template out of cardboard got the shape I wanted. I then cut the template into 3 pieces top, bottom and broad. Used a jig saw for the abs and some 80 grit to fine fit. Glued it together with home depot abs glue. I then glued it to the vents and drilled a hole for the lower screw and fitted it with a finish plug.

However I made some steel ones using goffoz's template. This of course took some welding.

Does anyone have the numbers for increased drag vs increased horsepower that the scoop provides? Or is this a net negative in top speed? Laughing

But how many "cool points" or "street cred points" do you get?

LOL if you must, but the scoop is a net performance improver if you have a diesel because it shoves air into the engine or the intercooler, especially at higher speeds. For bigger engines it will push more air down into the engine room and keep things cooler. For stock engines probably no advantage.

More goffoz scoop pics. I saved them because I liked the design and color match.

The left side scoops air in, the right side let’s the heat out.

That’s why it’s important to have the battery door on the right.
