Last night we had a heck of a snow storm. The van sat outside and accumulated 1.5 feet of heavy wet snow on top of it. Snow removal of my property took a lot of effort and the van was mostly clear off. Last year was the first winter (below freezing temps and snow) the van had to endure in it's life. Prior it had spent its life in southern California with the majority of it in a garage. I did park the van inside my garage most of last winter. My garage generally does not get colder than 40s with an occasional dip below freezing.
It is going to be a month or 2 before I can clear out my garage enough to park the van in it. Even then I have several projects planned this winter which will occupy my garage space, and the van will enviably be spending a lot of time outside in the elements.
Tell me this isn't a death sentence for the van. I fear the cold temps will speed up vans demise. _________________ 2002 EVC |
