OK folks, last bump, amazingly, forecast indicates rain the whole week but clear skies and 50F over the weekend, perfect weather for the meetup (I'll be bringing some hot cocoa and coffee). _________________ 87 Syncro Westy EJ25 ("Tardis")

No problem is you want to camp in front of my house or down the street with the other homeless in front of the VA. Yeah, come up as it's going to be decent weather on Saturday. _________________ 70 Ghia Black convert-9/69 build date-stock w/133k 1600 SP-barn find now with a rebuilt tranny and engine

I kinda had a hankering for some aluminum, but we'll see what comes up. Looks like there's some tread remaining. Are they 215/75R15? Are you coming to Marymoor? _________________

Who has 15" wheels that would fit this poor neglected van that's sitting on junky 14" wheels?
Let me float this idea. If you have 15x7 with BFG K02s or equivalent, and want to change wheels....
Meet me at Marymoor, show me your wheels and lets negotiate...👍🏽
I don't need wheels immediately - this van doesn't even have an engine yet. |
Perhaps some 16" euro wheels with Nokian WRC3 215/65 R16s (109/107 load rating) with not many miles on them will turn those junky shoes into fancy footwear? I have four wheels with WRC3s and a fifth with a 215/60 WRG3. The WRC3 is arguably a better snow tire than a KO2 but is not an AT tire. For sale, not trade so that may not meet your swap criteria.
Sadly, I'll be out of town this weekend and will miss the van gawking. I sure enjoyed it in 2019.
p.s. Frankly, the steel mefros look (way) better, IMHO. _________________ - Jim

Yes, there's a good amount of tread on the 215/75R15 wheel combos. I hadn't planned on driving all the way up there, but gave it some consideration when I saw your post. No pressure.
I also have a nice set of four Kumho I'Zen studded 14" tires on stock black Vanagon rims. Lots of tread left. _________________ Casey--

I will be in seattle so I’m planning on driving by.
Anyone contemplating a TDI swap or are just TDI curious can do a test drive at that time. Please PM ahead.
Thanks

Make sure you have a FOR SALE sign with your Syncro, you never know, some folks might walk by and make an instant decision

I’m good with stalkers or anyone with a check book!
Or needing spare parts. Or needing courier services from pdx to Seattle. Or wanting to try out a TDI. Or wanting to talk van geek. _________________ VW LT40 build. Like a Vanagon but 30% larger in every direction and 40% slower even in metric.

Find me at the meet and I'll show it all to you! I'll be in the slammed medium blue Riviera camper with 18in GTI wheels on it. I'm hard to miss even at a Vanagon meetup |
