Hi everyone, this is my first post since purchasing our Vanagon in July. I have done some interior work over the last few months and thought I would share what I have done
New truck mirrors (what a difference!)
Painted the table leg
Used peel and stick on all the cabinets.. that job took a long time!
Painted the ceilings and installed a Sirroco fan
Got my mom to reupholster the cushions and make new blinds for the whole van
Installed some LEDs
Repainted the rusty stove face plate.. will have to re-do that one eventually.. didn't turn out great.
And took it out to the Ocean
I just replaced the gas tank today as it was leaking after my 5,000km road trip to visit my parents.. Some other minor things I had to do was clean the drivers door lock as it was jammed up and wouldn't close/lock.. I had to replace the water pump under my sink as it stopped working. And I did a deep clean inside the van.
Im sure there were some other things i've done over the past few months that I am forgetting.
Anyway, it has been a blast working on the 82'

Welcome! And nice work. I like that light laminate on the cabinets. Looks really good.

Thanks!
Yes, the previous owner did an engine swap with the Subaru ej22 motor and redid all fuel lines and pump. I should take a look under to make sure everything is looking o.k though! |

Good deal. I had an EJ22 in my last van and it was bulletproof. I basically rebuilt the whole van around that engine. Enjoy!
Oh--I did my table leg in flat black also. Looks much better. _________________ Joe T.

Looks great! I'm a fan of the fabric you chose for the rear seat.
What is the plastic looking piece between your stove knobs? Is it some sort of lockout to keep them from being accidentally bumped on?

They are, I have added the same to my van when we had our daughter.

The knobs are visibly 3D printed (if you look at OPs picture, the right knob is one with a lockout notch, and the left is stock), but the lockout works well and stops the little one from playing with them. |
