Exactly the same as I do it except more blood, sweat, cursing and beer as a reward! _________________ I think he meant "rare", as in "not well-done" |

The way you were slinging those tools around, it should take you less an 30 minutes to change the clutch when you need to. Nice work on getting it in. I really like IRS setups for doing an engine change. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Slick! I used a similar jack for the engine, including a wood adapter that I found plans for here, plus the QuikJack setup for the car, and it really saved my back pulling it out. I expect similar ease putting it in. Much safer, too, than balancing it on a single floor jack. The quick jack helps, but that motorcycle/ATV-style jack really helps even with jack stands for the car!

I admit I'm a tool junkie, but these jacks and custom-fit wooden platforms are the bomb.
In addition, I was able to keep the engine sitting on the lift while I stripped it down to the long block. I never needed my engine stand. And no danger of it tipping.

I bought a HF 500lb lift table last fall. BEST tool for solo VW engine/trans work I have ever had! And... my back isn't angry at me now!
