Asking $12,500 for a 66 Fastback with an engine missing cooling tin, fan shroud being held together with hopes and dreams because the fasteners seem to be missing, wrong glass in the rear quarter windows, a hacked up rear tray with plywood nailed to it and an axle replaced with a rag but somehow 'it runs great'?
|
You'd be shocked at how many people think that a VW engine that runs like a 'hit-or-miss' is 'normal'. _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.

No, no I wouldn't. All you have to do is go to a local VW car show and have a nose and a pair of ears. Most of the cars there aren't running right...been to shows in several different states and it's the same story. And they all think their cars run great. |

trippin' on both - but there are a lot of idiots out there with spending money so I dunno anymore. The crappiest busses are selling for way higher than they should so maybe there is some residual or domino effect on type 3's |

Id like to take that notch and slap it with a Stock Stick fOsHow.
I don't thinks that square is far off. More like a 22k car if its not hiding stuff with bondo. _________________

I freely admit I am no expert, but the number of concerns I see begin when selling it after only two months. The "warning Will Robinson, Danger, Danger" is all over the place for me. The partial pan cut above the plywood, the pan tape and the rusty brake line on the fluid tank, and other bits I think I see. My fear is he paid too much, it has warning signs that are not mentioned, and wants to get what he paid for it to get in good graces with his wife again.
The $45K slammed notch bothers me for reasons not worth mentioning. It is worth 1/4 of that to me.

The engine runs great but the car doesn't go anywhere. Technically not a lie but also technically not the truth. |

Weird that he basically indicated it was all original but the seats are from a '66: |
Maybe to make it easier to get into the rear seat? Or maybe the seat material split and was leaking horse hair all over the interior. Nice clean looking car though. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Tell me you're too lazy to sell the car without telling me you're too lazy to sell the car.
"Not shipping to anyone, you show up look at it and make the purchase.
If you need a bunch of pictures because your an importer flip guy, just pass, not interested in your hoop jumping dealio. "
I love these sellers. They don't want to do any work, and want you to do everything to buy the car. Probably doesn't know much about the history either. "Not in an accident im aware of."
Unfortunately these types are becoming more common. |

Yeah, his listed prices are high, but I've bought from him over the years. He knows his parts and gives free advice (at least in person when I've picked them up). He spends a lot of time cleaning, polishing, painting, inspecting parts, so you don't have to. If you want the part, make him an offer. He's worked with me before. |

His reviews are an absolute dumpster 🔥. I had one interaction years ago and I wouldn't bother again. |

Thanks for sending me down the rabbit hole... and also saving me from ever purchasing parts.
also this review
"I have now had two experiences with these characters. Neither of which causes me to exude confidence.
The first was sending an email about buying a part and getting a response about 7 months later. That was sorta weird. But hey, sometimes things get delayed. Laughing
I just called to inquire about an ad on the samba. I say hello and get a "ya". I pause and say "how you doing today?" I hear nothing. I say "I'm calling about an ad on the samba". I get "hurry up". I said "I'm just trying to be friendly."
I get "why are you so slow talking?" I ask "is there a problem?"
The response "I'm eating my lunch." I ask kindly "what's for lunch?"
I get "dude, what's your fucking problem! I'm eating a burrito and I don't fucking want it to get ice cold!" And the bad attitude in the tone of voice was as big as a house. I said nothing and simply hung up.
You can't make this stuff up!
I called to make sure that I would get what was pictured because of prior feedback being less than stellar and suggesting you don't always get what is pictured when you receive an order.
I concluded that I certainly wouldn't entertain doing business with anyone who interacted with potential customers in such a fashion, poor reviews notwithstanding. Would you?
Their caller ID was Bug Shakk so I know I didn't reach a wrong number. Guess their spelling mirrors their attitude?"

I bet removing the air cleaner is a fun job with that fuel line running over the top of it. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Yes! Because every 64/65 Notchback is automatically worth $25k in any condition. If it runs, add $5k, Fuchs? Add $5k, et. al. Suddenly they're all listed for $30-45k. |

And none of them ever sell. Its like they aren't really trying to sell the cars, they're waiting for a barret jackson bidder. Like the automatic notch for 40.5k, he even rose the price cuz no one wanted it. Good luck buddy! Automatics aren't desirable in any condition. |
