I just became the owner of a Manx 2. Pretty rough and it's 600 miles away from me in Oregon so I'm not sure how I'll get it to California.
I've always wanted one and this was my chance. Going to have to figure out how to get it all back in one piece.

I'm no off-road guy, but it looks like somebody wanted to lengthen it to match a full-length pan, yeah?
I like the idea as I prefer longer cars, but I guess that might be more work than shortening the pan, depending on your skill sets. |

Reminds me of sawing a lady in half. But that’s just a magic trick.
Long or short. It’s a nice project. _________________ 1973 standard, yellow, lowered, 3” narrowed front, 1600 blo-thru turbo w/single dell 15.4@86, so far

Thank you. Until I can get it home I'll be collecting parts for it. |

They did want to make it longer. I'll be shortening a pan and keeping the body the shorter length. My skill set is going to be tested. I have a steep learning curve in front of me.
I see you're in San Jose. I'm just down the road in Morgan Hill. |

Think about how many hours you will have into this, then remember that Meyers still sells brand new bodies. _________________ Brian

Nice glad someone decided to give her the TLC she deserves. Been looking at it in ads hoping would grab it up. You got this! |

This was local so I brought it home to get some practice on. Lots of experience to be gained with all the work this needs.

Ahhh, yes, Morgan Hill is just down the road. I'm on the south side, so you're probably only 20 minutes away.
Do you ever attend the Kelley Park meet up here? |

I haven't been to the Kelly Park meet up. Is it for VW's? I'm new to the scene. |

Yes, VW-only show and swap. It's on a Sunday in April every year (except cancelled in 2020 and in August this year). Highly recommend. The host hotel is in Morgan Hill, and the Friday and Saturday prior, there's a good swap at the 101 Red Barn in Aromas.
Barring any pandemic madness, the next one will be their 37th annual. |
