I'm doing a front disc brake upgrade and need to replace the master cylinder. I removed the two bolts behind the brake pedal. But the master cylinder won't budge. What am I missing?

And since this is my first post... I'm new to Things. It's been my girlfriend's dream car forever and we finally found one. So here I am and I appreciate the help!

If it isn't already too late, first partially thread in the two bolts that secure the master cylinder. There are two bushings between the inner and outer sheet metal; you don't want them to drop into oblivion.

Once the two bolts are in place, you can tap the heads of the bolts forward with a hammer and punch to work the master cylinder free. But keep the bolts in place, so you don't loose those bushings.
