Found a 93 EV with a bad engine but a good transmission and thinking I will try and pull the transmission tomorrow. Wondering if the trans can be polled with the engine still in the van, And what tools I might need? The van has no wheels and tires on it but has blocks under it and is sitting at roughly the original height so just enough for them to crawl under the front end of it

Yes. It can be pulled with the engine left in place. It’s tight but doable. My preference is to remove them as a unit.

You need an engine hoist. Attach the boom as close to the cylinder head as possible as there is not a lot of room under the cowl to lift the engine as you pull it forward out of the engine bay.

Why not just make a custom set of wires with a Y splice in them. Then you could just run one distributor.

I don't think electrickery works that way

Is this also the case for the long nose VR6 vans?

Yes you can pull the trans with the engine in place (passenger mount still attached, trans end of engine hanging from a hoist, swing out just a little to get the trans to clear and out).
