Here is my latest project, August 10th 1967 RHD Fastback in Regatta Blue. My first foray into type 3 ownership.
2.0 rims are going in favour of some freshly powder coated steels clad in Whitewall tyres, trim rings and dog dish caps. Slight raise of the suspension, a quick visit to the paint shop for some corrections and finally fit the NOS muffler and plumbing, throwing out the 4 into 1 and quiet pac.

Beautiful! Do Aussie cars have a gas tank fender like our '68s in the states?

I presume so but wouldn’t know for sure, I’m from across the pond in the U.K. my U.K. 67 does have a gas flap fender you mention though.

That's a beautiful Fastback. I really like the colour of it, as it's not that common here in the states. It looks very complete, and the PO took good care of it during their ownership. Over here in the states, an August 67 build would be a 68.
It's possible that the right front fender has been replaced though. I only say that, as it looks like it's missing the fender welting in the lower part of the nose. It looks like a 69 front fender (no finger indent). I think the left rear has been off at least once (maybe electrical work), due to the fit of it's lower welting too.

As far as I am aware all panels are original. Fenders have been off for some rust repair to inner arches. Build date of Aug 67 makes it a 68 model year car.

Very Happy yeah, cool looking but I'm not that sure on the white walls thing.
I do have a feeling that the previous tire/wheel combo was spot on, sorry about that.

I understand your opinion but it was always my intention to return the car to stock. If we all liked the same thing this hobby would be rather dull.

It is a great colour, I’d not come across it until purchasing this vehicle. Regatta blue is one of my favs now 🤙

Love it, it's great being stock. Early RHD Fastys are a rare commodity.

Thanks Rich
I must admit I was after a Sqb but this popped up and the colour did it for me. I’d never seen a Regatta blue car in the flesh.

Not a big fan of the black basket weave, I think blue, grey or beige would of been better on a blue car.

I think Black suits it. I have two very early UK RHD Fastbacks (Sept 65 and May 66), VW Blue and Delta Green, both have Platinum interiors.

That is early 👍
Black is ok but I always like a bit on contrast in the interiors. Early Beetle cloth interiors are really my thing. This is my first Type 3 so it’s a learning process.
