Update: The JW speakers in black are backorder until March 2022. I'm keeping the order to lock the price in, because i've been delaying doing this for a while. I expect this to happen for a lot of other deals.

Headlight Revolution has heated Trucklites and Jw speakers. I bought a set of the Heated Jw speakers to replace my non heated version. $699 for the pair with tax and free shipping. Would have been $885.34+tax otherwise. Pricey but still JW speakers are hard to find on sale. I had trucklites on an jeep rubicon unlimited. It was nice too. Good cut off but it has this distinct weird X from the beam.

@ VicVan, it's a pretty clever kit. It allows you to modify a Subaru 4EAT 4-speed automatic, reverse the transmissions direction using sprockets and a hyvo chain rated to 300 hp, and has a milled aluminum plate that mounts to the Vanagon's transmission mount.

I see, thanks for the clarification. On a sidenote, do they just expect people to know that when they land on their site? Anyway.
Seems like a good idea, given the antiquities that are are two options for gearboxes.
Can I put in a Subaru gearbox on any type of engine then? Does it have to be a Subaru, or can it be a WBX or another VW conversion (funnily enough, I looked on their website but did not find the info)?

They're in the process of improving their web site, and they probably have a plan for revamping some of the content descriptions for the kits.

There's still some R&D opportunities for it, like having a bolt-in kit to use the Vanagon automatic shift lever. Some opt to replace the Vanagon's shifter with the Subaru shifter.

To use with another engine source there would probably need to be the mechanical items:
-adapter plate between engine and Subaru 4EAT bell housing.
-mods to the Subaru torque converter
-new flex plate.

There'd also need to be a rethink on how the 4EAT would behave electronically with a different engine with it's automatic transmission controller.

All of that at the present may be cost prohibitive. However, with reduced number of knowledgeable & reputable shops to rebuild the Vanagon box, and the number of NLA parts, it may in years time be a viable.
