Not sure what the area is called but I have a '74 SB and there are slits just below the rear window (not the decklid slits). The inner area you can see through the slits is pretty grimy but there is no access. Does anyone have a good way of cleaning that area besides a pressure washer?

Thanks.

Not only was that area 'crusty' on mine too it had some water leaks into the interior. Screws from mounting speakers made some holes right into that area. What I had to do was CUT Shocked between two of the 'vents' on engine sheet metal side and both sides so I could get my fingers up in there. After that spray flat black paint thru the outside slots so nothing is noticeable

Try looking for small diameter bottle brushes with long handles. Something like this:

Thanks for these tips. I have made some progress with a rag wrapped around a long screwdriver but will check out the brushes.

I wouldn't want folks to think that I actually clean out the slits on my sedan; but if I was, I would obtain some buret brushes, like used in chemistry laboratories. These can be up to 36" long, and different diameters.
