Been a member for a while and figured I should post up some build stuff.
Here is Gambugly- our Gambler500 now turned HooptieX/ street legal prerunner adventure Baja. The build continues to use old / rusty / discarded parts found on CL, from friends, self fabricated etc. Its intentionaly as ugly as a mud fence.
It started out as a $400 lowered bug - IRS, SP, ghia disc, rust, spiders, dead rats, bad wiring, etc.
Fixed some stuff, raised it back up, got it running decent, threw on $50 worth of Baja CL fiberglass and gambled the heck out it.
Eventually doing a winter camo paint theme ($24 in spray cans)
And the some Baja wheels and a roof rack.
And life happened, it got ignored sat around for a few years, the BJ front end was now very sloppy, the stock suspension was not cutting it. Plan was to add a link front and and DP the motor.
Then this happened- ex Class 5 car suspension - +10 w/ combos, Foxes, 5x5s, Chromo, 930s from a friend.
And then a 3 rib and this
And HooptieX and Gambled it more. The suspension works amazingly (as it should)
But the 1600 had a meltdown (from a brake / fuel / lean issue)
Was going to re-jug and DP it - but this happened (T4 2.0 w/ IDFs)
Still sorting out carb and brake issues/ getting it more prerun and streetable. Next stop is HooptieX at the Mint 400. _________________ 1969 Gambugly- HooptieX/ GORRA / Gambler500 pile of parts. |
