I drive a 71SB and it's hot in the summers in Texas. I saw a picture somewhere of a popout windshield on a bug and I'm wondering if that's something that could be put on a 71SB. Does anyone sell a kit? Thanks in advance.

You open the windshield and you won't be shielded from the wind anymore and that hot air will quickly cook you and dry out your eyes, just roll down the windows and open the wind wings to deflect the air, if your rear side windows have pop-outs open them.

Only use when parked, of course.
Same as Bus Safaris. Anything over about 10mph is not tolerable, regardless of temperature!

Golly gee I feel sorry for all the motorcycle riders out there with all that wind and hot air right on their faces Wink

https://www.fruizshop.com/ventanas?page=4

There is a link to the window page of the place in Mexico with the different style Safari windshield. The version with the blackout around the edge is $220 USD and the clear one is $190 USD. I forget what shipping costs are but when I contacted them a while back I was surprised at how low it was. I have not tried the products, just explored their availability.

I have the fruiz pop outs on my 71. They are nice.I would bet you would be happy enuff with rear pop outs and open sides and a vent wing to deflect the blast from your face. Plenty of air circulation, and you won't be driving 50+ with a safari windshield!

This is true, quarter window popouts really do make a difference in air flow. Great place to start.

Don't read it then Confused

I was talking to a guy at a local show with one of the front windshield safari kits. He said it leaked like crazy in the rain. That's reason enough to turn me off to them. I don't do cars that can't be driven in all weather.
