It’s a goof on “Bow” season (Bow and arrow) before long gun season. Usually associated with Deer hunting in some parts of the country.

Pete!
You need to get your bus out and dialed in. Start another EPIC road trip thread like your Alaska one and head to Florida! |
Great idea! But it wont happen this year! I'm slithering down there pretty soon!
It looks like I just need to find a private everglades land owner, and I can hunt on their property. |

A 19-year-old Florida man snagged the top prize in the state's 2022 Florida Python Challenge after capturing and removing dozens of the reptiles.
Matthew Concepcion was awarded the ultimate prize of $10,000 after he caught 28 Burmese pythons during the annual contest, according to a Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation news release.
The challenge has, once again, "yielded impressive results" after 231 invasive pythons were removed during the 10-day competition. _________________ What are the last 2 words of the National Anthem?

Although that’s nice, the python hunt will never end them. Like lion fish they are here to stay unless something else can be figured out. |

As a FL native they need to have open season on these damn things. I hate snakes in general but these are killing everything from gators to deer and who knows how many small native creatures.
They do use some interesting control methods on them though. The best I've heard is they capture the males live, neuter them then release them to be tracked. Once it finds females they kill the female and all her eggs (up to a hundred or so at a pop). Either way they kill them which is great. |

I've tried to talk my brother into going hunting......I even offered to buy the beer. Only stipulation was that I be allowed to handle the tail end.
guess he is smarter than I thought... |

Most states don't require and open season for invasive species. It's always open. Problem is you still need to adhear to hunting times on public lands, or have the landowner permission.
FL may be different, so consult local laws.
Some boa skin seat inserts and door cards might be pretty cool though.
