ive got a set of stock wheels and hubcaps. there your basic chrome hubcap, and im wanting to paint them flat black, do i have to strip the chrome or can i just clean em up and lay the paint down! any tips on how to go about this?

paint will not sitck to chrome very well...best to blast them first

Another thing I like to do is deflate tire, put some masking paper all around and under the outer lip of wheel, then paint the wheel, then when its dry , all you gotta do is inflate. No scratches. Here is a bad photo of some 356 wheels for a customers 57 sedan.
