I just so want to be there, driving a Ghia!
Did you really drive it just so to get the VW upright on the hub— or did you actually take it off and replace it? Or are you just living right?
Maybe we can have a Ghia driving experience exchange. I will come over and drive yours in its territory. And vice-versa! _________________ 1973 Porsche 914 2.0

Mystical isn't it...whenever I stop they're the right way up.

If you've driven a rental over here, you're braver than the average 'Merican who breaks into a cold sweat when they see a car with the steering wheel on the passenger side. Factor in driving a LHD Ghia and trying to remember to drive on the left hand side of the road, you have the ultimate recipe for a terminal brainf**k. _________________ John.

Well, it was a RHD car but we tooled around much of GB for about 6 weeks in it. Not saying it didn’t get and keep my attention, but I did it! _________________ 1973 Porsche 914 2.0

Yes I've always found driving in the US very easy, the UK roads can be very intimidating because of the density of traffic in the cities and the motorways that always seem to be under repair. |
Gotta say, it was the one lane hedgerows that daunted me. _________________ 1973 Porsche 914 2.0

Ha! I love those. Our local car club used to do late night Rallys along those one lane country roads back in the early '70s. Doing 70mph+ seemed like 120.
Met a scout troop walking one of those at midnight...they showed great initiative diving into the hedgerows. _________________ John.
