My father-in-law is restoring a 1970 Ghia. It had a loud extractor exhaust system and he wants something quiet. I'm trying to find something that works exactly like the stock one. I used the Dansk on a beetle a few years back, but didn't like the fact that the tubes weren't equal length, unlike the original muffler which had extensions inside the muffler for the two rear cylinders. I also didn't like that it took a few hours of welding to get the air boxes to line up with the rear shrouding and to blast the crappy paint off of it.
Does anyone make a stock-style muffler that is true to the original VW design? |

I have a Leistritz and would recommend it. Good fit and quality. |
